Game Controller - Stimulating the hand technology

A game controller is an input device used to control video games.

They are connected to either a video game console or a computer and are installed to control the movements or actions of a device in the game. The example of a game controller is not limited to joysticks, but even the keyboard and mouse can serve the purpose of being a game controller.

There are different types of game controllers available in the electronic hardware market. Some of the most common are game pads, paddles, joysticks, steering wheel for driving games, light gun for shooting games, motion sensor and others. Some devices, such as keyboards and mice, are actually generic input devices, and their use is not strictly limited to a game controller.

Due to the technological advances in the electronic markets, these game controllers have become obsolete, thus forcing the manufacturers of controllers to bring some more efficient and practical game controllers to the markets. A Wii video game console that allows one to enjoy any game directly using their hands on the screen. This device unites a new ZCam, a 3D camera that connects directly to a PC. Zcam works by emitting short infrared beam pulses and then measuring the reflection of the Game Controllers. The current sophisticated software algorithms do the job or interpret these reflections in a way that the system is able to judge the distance and secernate between different objects and also the hands of others.

Due to the fact that it completely depends on reflection of the light from the camera, the ambient light requires to work, which allows the camera to work effectively in a dark room as well. This technology has the ability to be applied autonomously to existing software. This software can enter into the hands of the player, even between the fingers and can run various applications based on what the person is doing with their head, hands, fingers or upper body.

This software is currently focusing on video games and how ZCam technology can make a dent in the traditional interface market.

This product is very similar to Sony's eye toys, but the eye toys only work in 2D, which limits their effectiveness only for games like boxing. The limitation of 2D is that it can only detect movement when it is to the side. It cannot detect movement when the background is yourself. "With the advantage of applications beyond the video game, this technologically advanced product can be applied to one's existing product. Following the footsteps of Nintendo's motion-sensitive Wiimote controller to its successful Wii video game console, this Zcam 3D camera also aims to move the technology genre forward.
