Computers have become really advanced with many different accessories attached to it. We can define an accessory as a device attached to a computer but not part of it. The function of an accessory depends on the computer it is connected to. A computer must be equipped with all the necessary accessories to perform all tasks more efficiently. There are two types of accessories, one is basic accessory and the other is an advanced accessory. Basic accessories available include speakers, printers, scanners, UPS, surge protectors, headsets, suitcases and covers, cleaning and repair kits, etc. Advance computer accessories include webcam, microphones, gaming equipment, portable storage devices, CD and DVD recordable drives , network accessories, modem.
This computer accessory makes every task very fast and easy, e.g. If you have a personal printer connected to your PC, there is no need to go to any office to get the document printed. The most important computing device is UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), it supplies a continuous power supply to a computer so no data should be lost. A headset comes with a built-in microphone so you can not only listen to music but also dial from your computer to another computer or phone. Webcam allows you to take pictures or record your video or can be used to have a live chat with anyone over the Headphones & Speakers.
Portable storage devices such as USB flash drives can be used to transfer data. The capacity of these devices ranges from 8 to 12 Gigabytes. Rewritable CDs and DVDs are also another source of data transfer and storage. If the devices above are not sufficient to transfer data, we can also go for networking accessories such as LAN cables or modems. These network devices can be used to transfer data over a local network or over the Internet.
Most laptops have built-in wireless internet, which allows travelers to access the Internet while traveling. A desktop computer also comes with amazing all-in-one features that include touch screen, Wi-Fi, color selection, built-in webcams and TV tuners.
To buy a new desktop computer, you need to know that there are standard accessories that come with the computer such as speaker, keyboard, mouse, monitor. But there are some that need to be purchased separately like webcams, UPS, modem, external hard drive, etc. But in case of a laptop, webcam, speakers etc come as built-in devices. Other devices available for purchase are portable laptops to prevent laptop burning and provide a comfortable working position. Universal laptop power adapters, laptop projectors, mobile printers, wireless laptops, portable speakers are some of the other computer accessories to buy while buying a laptop.
